My husband and myself are senior citizen's. We have had health problems and sometimes are unable or don't feel like cooking. We have been eating Ms. Goodie cooking for a while now. She is our go to restaurant whenever we need a full course meal. The food is always on point to our liking. The prices are reasonable for the portions we receive. We always have enough for late night snack. Service is always great and patient. Whenever we have out of guest, we send them here. Never have anyone ever been disappointed. Today for dinner we stopped by Ms.Goodies I got the fish, Mac and cheese, green beans and French fries. It was a lot of food and it was good to me. Fish was hot, French Fries was hot, Mac and cheese was warm and green beans was warm. Overall job well done!! Check out this restaurant for breakfast, Lunch and dinner
Went here on a whim and boy was that the right call! Had the Fried chicken dinner ($13.50) which came with a whole half of a chicken and three sides. Also enjoyed a cup of kool-aid, because when in Rome . The chicken was delicious and juicy. Seasoned well and so big. The three sides I had were: Mac and Cheese, Yams, and Cabbage. They were all bomb! Added a slice of thick cut Yellow cake with chocolate icing to top off the meal and that was definitely the second best call I made of the day (after choosing to eat here originally, of course) The atmosphere inside reminds me of eating meals at my grandparents places for family gatherings/events and that was a perfect feel for this type of down home, soulfood cooking! Will return!
Went to Ms.Goodies a while ago and just getting a chance to update you all.. A few friends of mine visit this place regularly during the week for breakfast and I finally had the chance to go with them. It's a very small location and not fancy at all but the service was warm and homelike. The waitress (not sure of her name) was the mother of the owner and she was very friendly. The tables seemed to be a little sticky when we sat down and the waitress explained to us that the tables are waxed and comes off to customers as sticky, she then wiped down the table again to give us comfort and the table was still sticky-like. We placed our orders and it took about 30/40 mins to come out. The owner, Ms. Goodie, personally cooked our meals. I ordered a water and being a person who drinks filtered water wasn't a fan of the water that I was served. My friends who are regulars both ordered Kool-Aid and they had several glasses of it so I'm assuming it was good.. Once the food came out I had to dig in to this plate that is supposed to be so good. I ordered haddock fish, grits and over- medium eggs. The eggs were GREAT, not everyone can make these well but she definitely hit the bullseye on these, the grits were amazing as well. Now the fish, it was just okay. It could have used more seasoning and maybe cooked a few seconds less than it was. It was still good but not great. I also tried the pancakes and they were GREAT, they weren't mine so I couldn't over indulge but I will order them on my next visit. The owner then came over to talk to us and ask how our meals were as well as give us boxes for the food we couldn't eat. She had great conversation and told us about a man she feeds everyday who lives down the street in a shelter, I thought that was very nice of her. She cashed us out and then told us about the new menu that she's working on.. The place could use a some new/ updated decor but based on the customer service alone I would go back to support this family owned business..
Good southern food! With 3 sides! Wait time is long but the food is worth the wait! It's an older restaurant with mostly takeout and only small area for eat in!
